Drama Association of Wales Theatre Summer School
Two theatre courses - The Actor and the Body (Physical Theatre) and From the Page to the Stage (Modern American Theatre) at the University of Wales, Lampeter. 7th - 13th August 2005. Wales based charity, the Drama Association of Wales, announces the launch of its latest training project - Theatre Summer School 2005. A week-long residential training course in which students can choose between two courses. So why not reap the benefits of a week of working hard and playing hard in beautiful, rural Wales. And all for the price of a last minute bargain holiday! The Actor and the Body is a physical theatre course which will allow the actor to have control over his or her physical abilities in order to create a deeper artistic expression. The focus will be on portraying thought with the body in a stylised way, by means of articulation, three dimensional design and rhythm for dramatic purposes. From the Page to the Stage is a highly practical course which will explore Modern American Theatre through the work of two of America's greatest playwrights, Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams. The sessions will be fun and will explore the special qualities of these plays. There will also be accent workshops to perfect your American accent. Accommodation is in single rooms with en suite option available. The courses are suitable for all levels of skill and experience - just bring your enthusiasm, an open mind and be prepared to learn and enjoy. Our flexible pricing structure means that you can book on to either course for as little as just £340. And that includes tuition, course notes, accommodation and all meals.
