EUROSEDOS: The Live Final!

It's the Eurovision Song Contest, but not as you know it! With SEDOS' centenary season coinciding with the 50th live broadcast of what has become one of Europe's most popular TV events, it seemed only right that SEDOS should bring 18 of the winning artists together for a live final in the heart of London. For the avoidance of doubt, in the absence of the original artists being available to appear in EUROSEDOS: The Live Final! SEDOS reserves the right to provide substitute performers.

Just as the magic of television has enabled live multinational voting of the contest to be screened around the world, so too, in the EUROSEDOS studio, 75 members of the audience, representing fifteen countries, will actively participate in each evening's performance by ranking their ten favourite acts. Co-hosted by Carlos Borracho and Katie Koyle, with TV commentary by Terry Wagon, the votes will be collated and the scores displayed on a live link giving us one over all winner.

When Frenchman Marcel Baison created the contest in the 1950s, his aim was to unite the nations of post-war Europe. However, just in case the great British public had failed to notice a bias in the national allocation of points, some of the best scholars in the land have turned their attention to the scientific analysis of Eurovision voting patterns. Oxford University researchers have proved once and for all that political alliances and rivalries are as strong as ever.

This year in the Ukraine, as votes for Javine barely crept above the infamous 'nul points', Terry Wogan voiced what all self respecting UK citizens were thinking: "Does nobody love the United Kingdom?" Well this is your chance to set the record straight, although it should be noted that having won five times Britain has in fact been one of the most successful entrants over the years.

Whether you love the Eurovision Song Contest, or pretend to hate it, EUROSEDOS: The Live Final! promises to show case some of the most memorable songs to have won the contest in the past 50 years, all performed in their original way, language, gestures, costumes the lot!
