The Next Three Weeks
Dateline: 7th August, 2005
Today the Edinburgh Fringe officially begins and there will be inevitable
disruption to the BTG pattern of updates.
Normally we have a full update, with a change of front page, on a Sunday
afternoon but we also update every day during the week. I am writing
this on Friday 5th August and already this week there have been more
than fifteen updates since Sunday. For the next two weeks, however,
there will be some changes:
- The regular Sunday updates will continue as usual
- In the week beginning tomorrow (8th), there will be no updates on
Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as editor Peter Lathan will be in Edinburgh,
filling every waking hour with shows. (A slight exaggeration, actually:
he does occasionally eat and seems to do an awful lot of walking around.)
Edinburgh. Updates, including Fringe reviews, will recommence on Thursday
11th.
- In the week beginning Monday 15th, he'll be back in Edinburgh from
Monday to Thursday (18th), so mid-week updates will restart on Friday
19th.
- The full weekly update for that week will be on Monday 22nd, not
Sunday 21st.
- In week three of the Fringe (week 2 of the EIF), although there
will still be BTG reviewers in Edinburgh, normal service will be resumed.
- Peter will not be able to answer emails on the dates he is in Edinburgh.
