Action Transport
Based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The company works in young people's theatre but does do some community work. It specialises in work of social and educational relevance.
Circus Fudge
One of three circus-related companies in the region, Circus Fudge is based in Rochdale, Lancashire. Its aim, it says quite simply, is to make people laugh. It performs in the streets and in festival venues, and its work is physical, visual and non-scripted. It also offers circus skills workshops.
Circus Sensible
(Ashton-under-Lyne) This company aims its work, which it describes as new circus/theatre, specifically at children of 4 to 14 and families. Its work is visual and non-scripted.
English Touring Theatre
Based in Crewe, Cheshire, ETT produces both classics and new works and tours theatres nationally. It is particularly committed to towns which do not have their own rep companies.
First Bite Theatre Company

From Liberpool, RR produces high quality devised, physical comedy theatre.
Spike Theatre
Also from Liverpool. Spike aims to produce "accessible, engaging and visually exciting theatre," using mime, acrobatics, ensemble work, clowning and strong characterisation.
Skylight Circus Arts
Another circus-based company from Rochdale. It aims to "rauise the profile of circus arts through performance, education and training."
Walk the Plank
This Salford company performs in unusual locations and uses comedy, drama, puppets, fire and fireworks. It also devises and performs site-specific events.
Whalley Range All Stars
A Manchester-based performance art company which uses unusual locations, including museums and galleries. It also presents street-theatre and devises events for parades and even shop windows.
Willpower Theatre Workshops
This Wigan-based TIE company aims to "make the classics exciting and available to all." It sees theatre as part of the education process and also offers youth theatre, workshops and summer schools.
