We want to expand our reviews to cover the whole United Kingdom, so we need reviewers in the following areas:

The West of England
Brighton area
Cumbria
Eire
Northern Ireland
Scotland outside of Edinburgh
South Yorkshire
Wales

We're interested in straight plays and musicals from professional theatres and from professional companies which may be playing in a non-theatre venue. This would include open-air and street theatre. We are also interested in opera and dance. We are not interested in reviews of amateur shows unless they have some particular special interest. If you wanted to cover an amateur show, then you would need to contact us first with suggestions as to why it would be of interest to a national and international readership.

There's no money in it! The site produces next to no income - just enough to pay hosting fees - so we can't pay for reviews. But what we can do is provide you with an official letter to the theatres in your area, accrediting you as an official reviewer for the BTG, which means that you get press tickets for the shows which you review.

What do we look for in a potential reviewer?

  1. A wide knowledge of theatre
  2. A good, clear writing style
  3. Some professional experience of either theatre or journalism (not essential if you can meet the other conditions)

Sorry, but we are unable to consider anyone under the age of 21.

If you're interested, please email us with an example of your reviewing style and we'll take it from there.
