Amy YorstonAmy is a graduate of Royal Holloway University of London with a degree in Theatre Studies with Drama and is studying for an MA at Central School of Speech and Drama. She currently works as Box Office and Marketing Assistant at a regional theatre in sunny Surrey and writes for various publications. She has been reviewing for British Theatre Guide since the beginning of 2009.
Growing up within a theatrical family Amy has experienced the stage from almost every perspective and has experience in Stage Management as well as acting. Whilst not harbouring a desire to perform professionally Amy has enjoyed success on the amateur stage with a diverse range of roles including Miranda (The Tempest), Agnes Nitt (Terry Pratchetts Maskerade), Kate Hardcastle (She Stoops to Conquer) and has twice been nominated for Best Actress at Festivals for her roles as Joan of Arc (Forward to the Right) and Young Woman (Pinters Mountain Language).
Amy also has a strong interest in directing which flourished at University and continues to develop. Her most recent production saw hen parties flocking to The Electric Theatre in Guildford to see Five Women Wearing the Same Dress by Alan Ball. As part of MDA Productions she has co-written and performed pieces for the Theatre Tent at Guilfest since 2007.
