Cambridge Festival Players
A group which produces one major musical a year. The site gives details
of the society, its shows, its social events and its committee. There
is also a forum and a password-protected members' area.
Campaign Amateur Theatre
Based in Ely, Cambs, this group has raised money for Cancer Research
since 1969. It does three major shows a year and this one page site
gives details of the current season.
Carlton Operatic Society
A society based in Netherfield, Nottingham. The site gives a brief
history of the group, details of its next production (including auditions
and rehearsals), previous productions (with photos for some), details
of how to join, and a members-only section.
Carluke Amateur Operatic
Society
(Lanarkshire, Scotland) The first page is most off-putting with a
very busy background, lots of cheesy clip art and a very disorganised
feel. There are embedded sound files (i.e.no option to switch them
off). There's a lot there, including photographs of past presidents
going back many years, and there's a members' section which has links
to various Word documents, which generate 404 errors. Not an easy
site to read, and even less easy to enjoy

Theatre
(Birkenhead) The usual info - about the group and the theatre, the
current production, how to get there, photographs and past productions.
I experienced some difficulties with the Past Productions page but
others report no problems. Awful cheesy music accompanies the home
page, with no option to turn it off.
Carver Theatre
The link above takes you to a Flash page which is quite large, has
an embedded sound file and, as always, is slow to download. To bypass
it, click here.
An amateur company in Stockport, Cheshire, which was founded in 1906.
One page is devoted to their current season and the other (very long!)
contains all other information.
Cassio Operatic Society
(Watford) Productions, becoming a member, picture gallery, sheet music

The Castle Players
The Castle Players are based in Barnard Castle, County Durham, and specialise in open-air Shakespearean productions in the grounds of the Bowes Museum. They do lots of interesting things, such as a pub tour of rehearsed readings from the works of Dickens.

(Birkenhead, Merseyside) An announcement tells us that this site is closed until further notice.
Celesta Players
(Didsbury) The usual ingredients: history, past and future productions, location, the social side, membership. No internal navigation beyond the first page, apart from a BACK button.
Caxton Players
(Grimsby). The site gives all the usual information - productions,
membership, details of the society and how to contact them, the theatre
- and also contains a Youth Theatre mini-site.
The Centenary
Company
A Gilbert and Sullivan Company based in Blackheath. Details about
the company and its shows, their calendar/diary and a password-protected
members' area.
Centre Stage
A group with a membership of around 30 12 to 25 year olds, based in Congleton, Cheshire. just one page of basic info.
Centre Theatre Company
A Gilbert and Sullivan society based at the Abbey Theatre in Nuneaton, Warks. Photos and details of some shows.

Chads Theatre

Chameleon Players

Charles Cryer
Studio Theatre
The Charles Cryer is a professional studio theatre in Carshalton,
Surrey, which runs an amateur company which is rather different from
most. One page with just a little information about the company and
how to join.
The Chelsea Players
An amateur group. The site contains the usual information about its
shows and social activities, details of the group itself, a mailing
list and how to conatct them.
Chelmsford Theatre Workshop
There is now a fair amount of this site: details of the society, what's
on, forthcoming auditions, production reviews, some idea of their
other activities, and - unusually - a useful guide to theatre sound
for the amateur.
Chelsea Players
Produces a wide range of plays, from Mark Ravenhill to Shakespeare.
The usual details, including an archive of past productions and a

Chesil Theatre
The home of Winchester Dramatic Society, the oldest in the country,
having started in 1893. Parts are still under construction, but there
are details of their history, the current production and season, and
a certain amount of info about the theatre itself.

(Herts.) Most unusual: an amateur group that performs grand opera. Just one page with very few details unfortunately.

From Shepshed, Leicestershire. They do two musicals a year. There
are details of past and future shows, membership (notes for members,

Circle Light Opera Company
(From Birmingham) Details of productions back to 1937, how to get
tickets, reviews of shows, contact details, the committee - and a
bulletin board that doubles as a classified ads column! Not that there's
much there at the moment.

Although primarily a stage school, CTS has a theatre for hire and
puts on many performances of its own.
Club Theatre
(Altrincham, Cheshire) Formed from a society which began in 1896!
The usual info, plus details of its Drama School (which includes GCSE
Drama) and the Hale one-act play festival which it organises. Few
internal links - much use of the [BACK] button needed.
Cockett Amateur Operatic Society
(From Swansea) Some info about the society and details of productions
- with loads of pictures. Their production of "Half a Sixpence" is
fully documented in pics!

of Four
This unusually named musical theatre society is based in Woodbridge,
Suffolk. There's all the usual information, plus The Box Step - a
dance step, for the uninitiated! - their magazine for members. Much
of it is in-jokes, of course, but non-members will appreciate some
bits!
The Company of Players
Based in Hertford. A pretty thorough site, covering all aspects of
the group's work with the exception of News which is covered by a
regular Newsletter for members.
Company Theatre Group
The resident theatre group at the Charles Cryer Studio in Carshalton.
All the usual info, plus details of auditions, workshops (including
favourite drama games), a book pool (scripts, screenplays and reference
books owned by members) a list of members, and short bios of authors
of plays produced by the company. The pictures page returned an 404
error.

An amateur musical theatre company based in SE Wales, formed in 1994.
The site gives a brief history of the group, a list of productions,
and how to contact and join them.
Concordia Theatre
Based in Hinkley, Leics. This amateur theatre is used by a wide variety of groups and puts on over 120 shows per annum. A very informative and comprehensive site, with a lot of images (which does make it a little slow to download).
