The index of links to amateur theatre companies (H)

Hanham Folk Centre Players
A listing of their shows for the year, with one page devoted to the next production, an email order form for tickets (pay in cash at the door), details of membership, and a page of club information which seems to be mainly aimed at members.

Harlequin Players Theatre
(Northwich, Cheshire) The usual info: who they are, their productions, how to join, plus details of their charity nights and copies of their newsletter. No internal links!

Harlequin Theatre
An amateur company based in Aberdeen. Does quite challenging shows. One page with basic information - and it's now got rid of the impossible tartan background! Thank you for that!!!

Harlow Causeway Drama Group
This is a most unusual group on two counts: it caters for people with severe mental and physical disabilities, and it is firmly rooted in the Baptist Church. It is Bible teaching through Drama, and all productions are devised by the group. It is based at the Potter Street Baptist Church in Harlow, Essex.

Harrogate DS
Flash useful - and you'll be prompted to get it if you haven't it. There's all the usual info: the list of past productions, divided by decade, has many subsidiary pages in indiidual shows, but the most unusual feature is the "Anthology" page, a lits of playwrights whose plays they have performed, with biographical information on many of them.

Harrow Light Opera
Current Productions, history (includes a list of pervious shows back to 1945), an email newsletter, their producyion venue (goes to the Productions page, click on Watersmeet Theatre instead), membership, and sponsorship.

Hartlepool Operatic and Dramatic Association
Teesside. Founded in 1908 and so one of the oldest in the UK. Two shows a year. There isn't a lot of the site: basic details, news of an A4E grant, a special offer for tickets, and a plea for financial assitance in buying their own theatre.

Hartlepool Stage Society
An independent web site dedicated to the friends the webmaster has made since first becoming involved with the society. Lists of productions, each with its own page; details of the venues at which they perform, and links to other local societies.

Hastleons Amateur Dramatic Society
Based in Hastings, Hastleons ADS celebrated its 70th anniversary in 1996. It's a musical company and does 2/3 shows a year. The site has the usual information and, on the pages dealing with individual shows, some useful technical tips.

Hayling Island ADS
(Hampshire) A two-frame site. The usual information spread over a number of pages.

Headley Players
A south Bristol company, established for over forty years, and producing musicals, straight plays and pantos.

Hebden Bridge Little Theatre
West Yorkshire. One page giving details of the theatre itself, the 1997/8 season, the company, and how to book seats.

The Hellesdon Players
(Norwich) The first page gives details of their next and previous productions, and there's a history of the society (a list of their plays since 1954).

Henley in Arden Dramatic Society
A new site, still partially under construction. Details of current and past productions, a forum, tickets, and how to contact them. The About Us page is still being worked on.

Highbury Little Theatre
(North Birmingham) A main house and a studio: details of productions past and current, location, membership, history, news.

Hinchley Manor Operatic Society
(Surbiton, Surrey) The usual information, plus a members' section which gives details of audition pieces for the next show. They have a countdown clock giving the time to the next show in days, hours, minutes and seconds and - horror! - embedded music which you can only switch off by disabling your computer's sound system.

Hitchin Thespians
A well established Hertfordshire society, going back to 1902. It's a musical company, with a very diverse output: advertised at the moment is a production Crazy for You and the Haydn Nelson Mass! A lot of information here.

Holybourne Theatre
Based in Hampshire and founded in 1948. This is a fairly basic site, covering the society's history and the current production.

Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society
There's a nice thirties feel to the design, but the site is very up to date, with a lot of Javascript. All the usual ingredients.

Horwich AODS
The navigation of this site is a tad confusing, and the fact that the status bar is taken over by a continuously running message doesn't help, because you can't see the page name, which usually gives some clue as to where you're going! There is the usual information about the society and its productions.

Hownslow Light Opera Company
A group specialising in Gilbert and Sullivan. There are details of the society (including a brief history), a feature (with photographs) on the run-up to putting on a show, a diary of events, and a list of previous productions.

Hulviz Operatic Society
Eltham-based Hulviz performs at the Bob Hope Theatre. The site features all the usual information and audio and video clips.

HumDrum Theatre Company
This is a young group, founded in 1992, with the aim of doing "under-produced" plays. The site is actually on two different servers, so it can take a bit of time to load some of the pages. Worth a look, though.

Huntingdon Drama Club
Listed purely for the sake of completeness: it was last updated in October 1999, when I first visited in January 2002..

Hurstpierpoint Players
An amateur society based in West Sussex. All the usual information that one would expect about a group which goes back to 1937.
