Links to sites for theatres in England - Page 3..

Exeter Phoenix Arts Centre
Details of all the Centre's activities, not just theatre. There's a very long Programme page, as well as details of courses, the box office, & the cafe and bar.

Finborough Theatre
A London Fringe theatre. What's on, how to book, a history which includes press comment on recent productions.

Forum Theatre, Billingham
A very standard site - about the theatre, general information about box office, access etc., programme, a floorplan, and details of its young people's school. There is little in the way of drama in the current season.

Forum Theatre, Wythenshaw
Very brief details only.

Gaiety Theatre, Isle of Man
Details of the theatre, its history and its architect (Frank Matcham), its programme of restoration and refurbishment and its tech specs.

Gala Theatre, Durham
Durham's Gala Theatre is one of the newest in the country. Primarily a receiving house (although it also houses a cinema), its site covers all aspects, from what's on to tech specs. It is also available for hire for corporate events, parties and conferences. There is no online booking and, currently, the seating plan page is under construction.

The Gantry, Southampton Arts Centre
This link leads directly to the theatre page. There isn't a lot here: just programme details.

Gateway Theatre, Chester
A reasonably large site, but fairly standard in what it has to offer.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
This is the official site, which is divided into four sections: About, Learning, What to do, Supporting the Globe.

Grand Theatre, Lancaster
The third oldest theatre in the UK, now entirely run by amateurs (the Lancaster Footlights Club). There's a tour, details of its history and the improvements that have been made over the years, what's on, the Footlights, and general information.

Grand Theatre, Leeds
Now much improved: general info, the programme in detail, disabled access, staff, and how to book.

The Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton
The Grand is in the throes of an £8m refurbishment and will be closed until December '98. The site concentrates on the refurbishment. There is also a news page and details of First Act!, a free organisation for 11-18 year olds.

Green Room
(They don't seem to believe in initial capital letters, but I do!) An arts centre in Manchester: details of its work and programme. A very nice design, but with very little on each page, so a lot of clicking through is required just to obtain the most basic information.

Greenwich Theatre
The theatre re-opened in July 1998. Full diary and programme details.

Guild Hall and Charter Theatre, Preston
One brief page giving the most general of introductions to the theatre.

Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury
Part of the University of Kent at Canterbury. A pleasantly designed site, but there's just a little bit of information on each page, so there's a lot of clicking and downloading required. Not a huge amount of info either.

The Hackney Empire
Packed with information and featuring excellent design, it's an object lesson to other theatres. A really excellent site with loads of information.

Hampstead Theatre
With a new domain name and a total site revamp, this is a much more useful and interesting site than before. Everything you need to know is here, including details of the new theatre, which will open in the autumn of 2002, and of job vacancies. And, of course, there's a nicely detailed and easy to use programme guide.

Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, Surrey
There's a lot on this site, but navigation is a bit disorganised. Rather too crammed a front page, too.

Harrogate Theatre
All the info you would expect, plus details about hiring the venue. An unusual theatre in that from September to May it's a rep, then for the summer months it's a receiving house, with touring shows, amateur companies, and music.

The Hawth, Crawley
All the details you would expect.

Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke
A producing (home of the Haymarket Theatre Company) and receiving house in Hampshire. All the usual information, including job availability.

Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone
An introduction, plus diary, details of the theatre's "Friends", a map, a history of the theatre, pages on their Youth Theatre, and how to contact them.

The Hen and Chickens
A pub theatre in London. Address, productions and a description.

The Hexagon, Reading
Part of the Reading Arts site: the usual info.

Hippodrome, Birmingham
Very basic details.

Hull New Theatre
A receiving house. There's a history of the building, a diary of events, booking, tech.specs. and how to find the theatre. No internal links but you do have a choice between Falsh and non-Flash versions.

Ifield Barn Theatre, Crawley
Although admnistered by an amateur group, the theatre is also used for professional shows. Very little information, though.

Jermyn Street Theatre
History, shows, box office (but no online booking), Friends scheme and a mailing list.

Keighley Playhouse
Plays, Join Us and Booking. Flash 6 is essential. The site is cleverly done by rather dull!

Kenneth More Theatre, Ilford
Mainly used by amateurs, the Kenneth More has a main house and a studio, and its Theatre Club is the largest in the UK, with over 4000 members. Details of the Club, booking, productions, and the usual info.
