An interesting article in the "Telegraph".

The National Streets Arts Festival
Although it began in the nineties, the site looks forward to the 2002 event, with details of the artists, partners in the Festival, events that will happen in the streets of London, Brighton, the South West, the Midlands and the South.

Net-Tix: Online Theatre Ticketing
A commercial service selling tickets for shows in the West End, on Broadway and in Australia, online. There are just two pages, one giving their terms and conditions, and the other contact details.

New Musicals
Not an actual show site, but one created by the Vivian Ellis Prize, awarded annually in the UK for new musicals: writers, lyricists, composers. There's information on the Vivian Ellis prize (including its history), details of the sponsors and supporting organisations and a message board. The site aims to become the place on the Web for new British writing in the genre.

New Playwrights' Co-operative
A non-profit play publishing venture. They have agrowing catalogue of all kinds of plays and musicals, and they do invite submissions from others. New playwrights may find this useful.

Oberon Books
A theatre book publisher, of both modern and classic plays and books on theatre. The full catalogue is online, divided into categories or you can do a search for a specific title, author, cst size or even ISBN.

The Old Spontaneity Shop
A London and Oxford-based impro company, working along the lines laid down by Keith Johnstone. Details of their shows and company members, impro games they enjoy, their philosophy, and their classes and workshops. Nicely designed site.

The Olivier Awards
An introduction to the awards, a searchable archive of previous nominees and winners, and how to apply to become a judge.

101 Uses for Gaffa Tape
A growing (there are now 365 uses!) list of sensible, professional, silly and downright wild uses for the ubiquitous gaffa tape.

Open Theatre Company Ltd
A company dedicated to "promoting, training, research and development in large scale community plays and learning disabilities." What they are and what they do, plus details of their Community Plays Archive and Database.

Steve Orme Productions
Steve Orme, of course, is the BTG's reviewer in the East Midlands, but he is also a video producer. This site looks at his work for schools (a new series of short Shakespeare productions, beginning with Macbeth), his documentary of the Shakespeare authorship debate, and his work in corporate video.

Paedophilia and Theatre

A single page site: a production company designed to organise and oversee many aspects of touring and residential theatre productions. The site gives a brief outline of its services.

A booking agency dealing with mainly light entertainment.

The Patrick Stewart Research Library
Although located on Long Island, New York, this site has, obviously, a lot of British interest. Its aim: "Using the extensive and diverse career of actor Patrick Stewart from his beginnings as a child performer to his successful work on stage, screen and televsion, as a means to inspire children to participate in and embrace the arts in their education." An interesting and unusual site.

PCR - Production and Casting Report
PCR has a good reputation among actors in the business for its casting report. This site gives all the details and enables you to send away for a free copy . You can subscribe online.

People Play UK
Theatre history from the Theatre Museum.An absolutely fascinating site which will keep you occupied for hours! Details of their guided tours, the collections, a theatre timeline section covering all aspects of theatre, the activities on offer at the Museum, and even some e-cards.

Peoples Theatre Company
Slightly odd this one: it's not clear just what it is. It lists two plays and offers workshops but much of the site is taken up with opffering career deveopment & "networking" opportunities for actors. You have to register to access this part of the site.

Per4orm.com
An online casting site for actors, singers, dancers, voiceovers, presenters and extras. Free to emploers, it charges £5 a month (or £45 a year) to those listed. Launches on 1st March

The Piazza
A company offering web and email hosting for the UK arts world, starting at £25 a month (more than twice your average ISP!).

puppetREP
Included purely for completeness: a puppet company, founded in 1983, ut the site was last updated in 1996.

Politics and British Theatre
An article from the "Independent" (26th Jan., 2001) about the dearth of modern British theatre dealing with politics and with Alistair Beaton's "Feelgood".

Practical Drama and Theatre Arts

Pub Theatre
A guide to pub theatre, mainly in London. There are details of all the theatres, with photographs of the Landor, Finborough and Hen and Chickens, plus a FAQ.

In association with the Internet Theatre Bookshop, Paul Thain has a catalogue of rare and out of print theatre books and plays.

RCubed News
"A review of rotten reviewers." 6 issues, all in PDF format. Enjoyable in a mean sort of way!

Really Good Productions
A composer's site, with his CV, four .wav samples of his work and details of two CDs he's produced. A very fussy backgound makes it difficult to read. Probably of more interest to film and TV producers than theatre people.

Really Useful Group Questionnaire
Would you join a Really useful Group information service? What would you want from it? How much would you pay? And are you willing to provide the large amount of personal info than this "market survey" requests?

Redgrave Action Group
The Redgrave Action Group is part of New Farnham Repertory Company which is fighting to save the Redgrave Theatre (1974) which the local council plans to demolish as part of a redevelopment. The site gives full details of the fight and how others can help.

Redstone Music Publishing
A small Coventry-based music publishing company, run by Tim J Spencer and Steve Vent, offering two musicals, a panto special effects CD, songs and orchestral works.

Ripon Operatic Summer School 2000
To be held in August, 2000. An intensive eight day opera/music theatre course at Ripon in North Yorkshire. Full details of the course, pus a history of the summer school and a photo gallery of past schools.

Robotopia
Only marginally theatrical, this is a company which supplies promotional robots. There are details about the company and the individual robots, and photographs.
