Thomas Middleton lived from, approximately, 1570 to 1677, which makes him a contemporary of Shakespeare and the other great Elizabethan and Jacobean dramatists. This is an academic site, which features all Middleton's plays.

The Monsterists
The Monsterists are playwrights David Eldridge, Moira Buffini, Richard
Bean, Roy Williams, Sarah Woods, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Colin Teevan,
Ryan Craig, Shelley Silas and Jonathan Lewis, who are campaigning
to promote new writing of large-scale work in the British theatre.
Facinating site, which is still be developed but well worth a visit.

Kim Morrissey is a Canadian writer, but she has had two plays produced (one premiered) in London, so she gets in! Details of the two plays, Dora and Clever as Paint: The Rossettis in Love.

Pantomime on the Web
Jon Keen, of the Crowthorne Amateur Theatre Society, has written pantos
of all kinds. The site is still under construction (but the last update
was June 1997!), so there's not a great deal there. Frankly, the only
page worth going to lists
his pantos, with details of who has done them. There are no links
to the shows themselves, however, nor any examples online.
Pier Playwrights
Pier Playwrights is an organisation for playwrights run by playwrights.
It exists to develop and promote new writing for the theatre and other
media in the South East of England. The site outlines the benefits
to members and has a private members' area.

Player Playwrights

Playwrights on the Web
A database of playwrights with websites, plus a BBS and a noticeboard with announcements about markets, competitions and meetings. Although this is a UK-based site, most of the announcements tend to be US-centric.

Run by Tony Breeze (qv). A small independent UK firm run by a playwright for playwrights. The full catalogue of full-length and one-act plays is online.
Jonathan Posner
Jonathan Posner writes the books and lyrics for musicals, and there are details of three of his shows on this site, as well as something about his philosophy of the musical (he's not keen on sung-through shows) and a quiz about musicals..
