Central Theatre
Supplies
Based in Birmingham, Central supply a range of theatre technical products
- LX, sound, stage, effects - on hire or for sale. No online sales
as they prefer to discuss requirements with customers. Lots of details
about stock, hiring, installation, servicing and PAT testing.
Dial Sound and Light
Based in Bradford, Dial sells sound and lighting equipment. There's a list of products and prices, but little in the way of tech. specs. If you're in the Bradford area and know what you want, you can find out if they stock it and for how much, but it would be cheaper to phone! I really can't see the point of this site!
Knight International
Based in Chelmsford, it supplies stages, lighting, PA and effects
(including pyro), mainly for outdoor events. Details of the company
are online but the rest is under construction (Oct. '98).
MM Productions
A sound equipment hire company based in Colchester. Their full catalogue
is online and they do offer a lot of useful advice
Mitchell Technical Theatre
A sound and lighting sales, hire and installation company in North Staffs. Two pages which say very little more than that!

Based in Manchester and London, a major sales and hire company for sound, lighting and drapes. Also works in TV and film.

Stage Electrics
A lighting hire and sales company based in Bristol with branches in Birmingham, Exeter and Plymouth. Subsidiaries are Theatre Direct (Cambridge) and Theatre Vision (Cardiff and Brecon). All the info you would expect from such a company, plus seminars that they organise and a job vacancies page.
Stagetec
A sound and light supplier and installer in Slough. A very comprehensive
site, covering all aspects of their work and of the equipment they
supply, plus a CD-ROM on stage lighting and details of vacancies in
the company.
Stage Services Ltd
UK based (West Sussex) suppliers of Stage Lighting, PA Systems, and
Theatrical Supplies. The site is still under development but already
its online shop has some good deals and there is an interesting, if
basic, guide for amateur productions on all aspects of theatre.
Tega
(Hull) Formerly Sabre Sound and Light. Sale, installation and hire
of sound and lighting equipment. The usual details, plus a section
on safety (PAT Testing and pyro) and a very useful technical section
in which they explain some common terms and ideas, such as clipping
and, most useful of all, DMX512. But why a webcam of the outside of
their building? As they say, you can see what the weather's like there....
Ten out of Ten

They do actually sell online, which is quite unusual. Their pricing
is in pounds and euros.
