Links to Scottish Theatre sites - Page 2.

Communicado
An award-winning Scottish company, formed in 1983. The site gives details of the company, its productions and its work in education.

The Ultimate Sean Connery Page
Oh no it isn't! News, short biography and a look at two books about SC, a list of his films, pictures and TV listings of his films (for US residents). The only unusual thing - a series of real audio files of interviews - is actually off-site. Defnitely not the ultimate! Not even in the running.

Sean Connery as James Bond
A brief biography and comments on his portrayal of Bond on the Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang! site.

Sean Connery (Sixties)
An entry on a page devoted to film stars of the sixties. A very basic intro, concentrating on his films of the period.

Sean Connery (Geocities)
One page giving a biography and career details, plus a few pics.

Sean Connery Biography
One of the "Famous Scots" series by former About Scottish Culture Guide Alan Scott.

Billy Connolly
Another of Alan Scott's Famous Scots series: a biography and a picture.

Cowgate Central

Martin Danziger
A freelance director, based in Scotland. There is his CV with links to shows he has directed and details of how to contact him.

Edinburgh Festival Theatre
The EFT is an old theatre with a new, ultra-modern frontage. This is a good site, full of information about the theatre and its programme. Visitors to Edinburgh, as well as residents, will find it useful.

The Edinburgh Guide - Theatre Section
Although part of the Edinburgh Guide, this particular section takes a much wider view, dealing with theatre all over Scotland (and even reviews of the RSC Newcastle season). There are listings, reviews and, of course, news. In addition there are Edinburgh-specific pages, such as a guide to theatres in the city. A very useful site.

Dundee Rep.
(Flash needed) Quite a thorough site, which covers their community company and the Scottish Dance Theatre, as well as the main house productions.

East Kilbride Rep Theatre Club
Some details of its history, plus news, programme, their one-act play festival, contacts and season tickets.

Giant Productions
A professional children's arts development organisation based in Glasgow, with the aim of providing arts for all children regardless of their ability or background. It covers visual as well as performance arts.

Gilded Balloon
The Gilded Balloon, one of the top three Edinburgh Fringe venues, concentrates on comedy but during the Fringe opens its doors to theatre companies too.

The Federation of Scottish Theatre
Considering the importance of the FST as an organisation, there is surprisingly little on this site - that is, apart from the Members' section which, of course, I was unable to visit. There's news, a section for young people and offers and competitions. There's also a search option which allows you to look for productions and performances throughout Sotland.

Mark Fisher's Scottish Theatre Links
Mark Fisher is a freelance theatre journalist based in Scotland. His site is an exhaustive collection of links to all aspects of Scottish theatre and also contains examples of his writing.

Gateway Arts Industry Network (GAIN)
GAIN offers a well-established innovative programme of training, research and professional development programmes for employees and employers throughout Scotland's arts and cultural sector.

Glasgow Repertory Company
A Glasgow company that specialises in Shakespeare. The site features its shows, booking, its history, its sponsors and its education work. It does tend to be a bit wordy.

Glasgow Theatres
A fairly basic guide to theatres in Glasgow.

Grey Coast Theatre Company
A company formed by poet George Gunn and based in Thurso. Its Scotland-based productions and TIE shows are detailed on the site.

Grid Iron Theatre Company
The usual information - current and past productions and how to contact them - plus details of the technical requirements for their shows (obviously of interest to venues which may book them) and an interesting bit of silliness: take the Grid Iron Compatability Test!

The Highlands and Islands Arts Journal
A monthly e-zine covering all aspects of the arts in Scotland's Highlands and Islands. News, reviews and interviews reflecting all art forms. The amount of theatre on the site depends upon what is playing or organised in that month.

Highlands and Islands Theatre Network
A consortium of all the professional producing theatre and dance companies operating principally in the Highland Council, Moray Council and Argyll and Bute Council areas. The site carries news of the Network's activities and plans, its projects, members and history.

Home Is Where the Art Is
This unusually named company is based in Glasgow and produces new writing for small and unusual venues. Two pages: the second is a repeat of the first with just a little additional info.

A Theatre in Education company based in Govan, concentrating on Scottish history-related shows for primary schools.

Killin Drama Club
(Perthshire) An amateur company going back to 1938. There's a what's on section, a list of shows, and so on

Leitheatre
Amateur group based in Edinburgh and performing shows during the year and at the Edinburgh Fringe. Pages on the society's history (it is 60 years old in 2006), its productions, a calendar, how to join and how to contact them.

Jeff Leyton
Music theatre performer, born in Edinburgh, best known for playing Valjean in Les Mis The latest news, reviews and articles (just one, by the webmistresses), a biography (just what he's done since Les Mis), his stage work (Les Mis and Cats only) and recordings, plus an "alternative" homepage, which is a bit of fun.

The King's Theatre, Glasgow
Most peculiar! A pic of the interior, an invitation to "Call back soon", and a link to Glasgow City Council's site - and that's it!

Loirston Drama Group
(Cove, Aberdeen) A musical society. The site offers news, past shows, events, props for hire (but there's nothing on that particular page).

Lung Ha's Theatre Company
A company set up in Edinburgh in 1984 to provide opportunities for adults with learning difficulties to become involved in the Performing Arts. This iste talks about what they do and invites people to volunteer to work with them.

Magnetic North
