Links to Scottish Theatre sites - Page 3.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre
This site covers the local area, eating at the theatre and the current programme.

Practical Magic
Practical Magic are a theatre company in South Lanarkshire, who specialise in touring productions to small community venues in areas that have difficulty accessing traditional theatre spaces. There are details of past and future shows, profiles of their leading members, and a mailing list.

PROScenia
Edinburgh based but working nationally. A production services company: lighting & sound design, production rigging and electrics. Not updated since February 2003 and much is still under construction.

Rapture Theatre
Based in East Kilbride, Rapture tours contemporary theatre around Scotland, which is currently touring Joe Penhall's Blue/Orange. The site gives details of the company, it productions, tour dates, and how to contact and support them.

Reeling and Writhing
A Glasgow company. This is a temporary site which has a few details about the company and two other pages about productions: Standing Wave - Delia Derbyshire in the '60s and Holocaust Memorial Day, Scotland 2004.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre
Take a virtual tour of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum and see the nuts and bolts of theatre.

The Scottish Arts Council
Full details of the work of SAC.

The Scottish Comunity Drama Association
The SCDA offers a wide range of services, all outlined on this site. There's news, details of festivals, a message from the chair, details of the organisation, their advisory service, playwriting competitions and workshops, a library of plays, a what's-on section, their Youth Network, and a Net Directory.

The Scottish National Internet Theatre Symposium
Not so much an internet site as the home of a discussion group on Scottish theatres. Anyone with an interest in Scottish theatre should be a member.

Scottish Plays
"A comprehensive list of scripts suitable for Amateurs and Professional theatre groups alike," says this site. It is a new site so there are a couple of pages with nothing there at the moment, but all their plays are online, together with details of cast size etc., and they do have a secure server for online purchases. Definitely aimed at the amateur market.

Scottish Theatre
This is a pretty massive site covering all aspects of theatre in Scotland both by subject matter (e.g. reviews, articles) and by county.

Scottish Theatre Archive
An introduction to one of the Special Collections in the Glasgow University Library.

Scottish Youth Theatre
A very new site, parts of which were still under construction at the time of visiting. Details of what it does, past productions and job opportunities.

Stellar Quines Theatre Company
A touring company based in Edinburgh, formed "to reflect the energy, experience and perspective of women in contemporary Scottish theatre." The site features details of the company and its productions, plus how you can support them.

TAG Theatre Company
TAG, originally part of the Glasgow Citizens' Theatre, describes itself as Scotland's national theatre company for young people. The programme for the next three years, as outlined here, is fascinating. There's a load of information here - and it looks good, too.

Theatre Babel
Scotland's only touring classical theatre company. You can watch some short videos (except that the streaming versions don't work!), and read about the company's history, productions and the venues in which they play most commonly.

Theatre Cryptic
Theatre Cryptic describes itself as "Scotland's most inovative young music theatre" company. You really need the latest version browsers to see this site: stylesheets and Javascript abound. It's beautifully designed, but its section on productions is a little unsatisfying because we don't get an idea of the show, just a list of personnel and such information.

Theatre Enigma
A Scottish company: details about the company and its productions, reviews, news and how to contact them.

The Tramway, Glasgow
The Tramway is currently closed for Lottery-funded redevelopment, but there are details of its history and plans for the future, and of its Spring '99 season, the last before going dark.

Theatre by Design
(Glasgow) Details of the company, its productions, reviews, and how to contact them

Theatre Guild Amateur Musicals
An amateur group in Glasgow. The site covers all aspects of the group's work, including social events.

Theatre Wild
"Dedicated to exploring the magic of Shakespeare in the natural environment of the West Coast of Scotland." Details of their courses, fees etc.

Theatre Workshop, Edinburgh
About Theatre Workshop, what's on, booking (not online), news, past events and a forum.

TOSG
Scotland's only professional Gaelic theatre company. The site is in both Gaelic and English. Details of the company's background, productions, tours, writing, and finance.

The Traverse
The Traverse is often spoken of as Scotland's National Theatre, and now has its own Web site after a brief sojourn some time ago on UK Theatre Web. And a very good site it is, too, with a great deal to explore. It even takes you through how plays submitted to them are selected for performance. It's hard to think of anything they've missed out!

Tron Theatre, Glasgow
Content here changes regularly. There are the usual sections, but there is also an interesting history of the building. There are lots of new developments planned, which could make this one of the most exciting theatre sites in the UK.

Tryst Theatre
(Falkirk, Scotland) Amateur company. Big splash page, then a news page but you have to scroll down through the text to find other pages. The photo pages do not show anything: something wrong with the Javascript?

Tweed Theatre
(Peebles, Scotland) Pages about the group, recent & forthcoming productions (some with photographs), how to contact them. No internal navigation so the [BACK] button is needed all the time.

Vanishing Point
Based in Glasgow. The company tours in the UK and abroad, collaborates with vsual artists and designers, and describes itself as producing experimental but popular works. There's a page about the company, details of past and future productions, and about their outreach work, and a feedback form.

Wood End Barn Arts Centre
An arts centre with a wide range of theatre, music, art, workshops and so on, in Banchory, Deeside. As well as a What's On page, there are box office details, a list of sponsors and a map.
