Strand
Strand is one of the best known names in lighting technology, with some of the best products on the market, but UK-based visitors will find this site disappointing. Although you'll find email addresses for Strand branches around the world, the information on the site is almost entirely America-related. The luminaire ranges mentioned do not include any on general sale in the UK (except Leko). Pity really.

James Thomas Engineering
JTE produce lighting trusses. Not the most exciting site ever to hit
the Web, consisting mainly of drawings of various trusses and sections
of trusses, plus a few accessories (such as hooks). In fact, there's
nothing here that wouldn't be done better in a printed brochure.
UK Sound and Light Community
A resource for DJ's and sound/light/theatre technicians containing
a range of articles and equipment reviews, a forum, a chat room and
an online store.
VARI*LITE
VARI*LITE is an American company which produces automated lighting. This is a pretty vast site which features all their products. Recently updated (July '98) it covers all aspects of the compay's business, not just the luminaires.
The Virtual Lighting Lab
An illustration of basic stage lighting, using up to seven lanterns (called instruments here - it ia an American site!), in a series of colour photos, plus some illustrations of lighting projects. Makes an interesting visual basic lighting primer.

Zero88
Zero88 is a major British manufacturer of lighting control systems. This site covers all its products (dimmers, desks, control equipment and lanterns), as well as technical support, an online newsletter (.pdf format), a company history and downloadable software updates for the Sirius 250 and 500 desks.
