The Granada Foundation has given a £150,000 grant to HOME, Manchester’s new £25m purpose-built centre for visual art, theatre and film.

The award, the largest ever made by the charitable foundation, will go towards the capital funding of HOME, ensuring state-of-the-art facilities when it opens next spring.

The award acknowledges the ambition and scale of HOME’s capital project and ongoing artistic and participation programme. The money from this grant will provide high quality modern and accessible facilities to be used by a diverse variety of groups—including audiences, artists, visiting companies, staff, community groups, schools, young people and international visitors.

In recognition of the gift, wall spaces on floors 1 and 2 of the new building will be named The Granada Foundation Gallery.

The Granada Foundation was established to encourage and promote the study, practice and appreciation of the arts and the method and means of their dissemination. It has a history of supporting arts and science organisations that engage and inspire young people and adults in the north west of England.

It has previously supported individual exhibitions at Cornerhouse, including Lost is Found in 2012.
