The Brighton Theatre Royal is to present one two-night and four one-night
shows as part of the Brighton Festival during May:
Monday 15 May at 7.30pm
House of the Gods
A dark and comic chamber opera, a tale of life, death, love and destruction,
set in a seedy East End pub . The production has been created by Lynne
Plowman (composer) and Martin Riley (librettist), together with Music
Theatre Wales. Suitable for ages 16-plus.

Richard E Grant
An intimate account of the pleasures and pitfalls of filmmaking, including
Grant's directorial debut Wah-Wah.

The Nose
The Opera Group present Shostakovich's riotous production about a
pompous government official whose nose goes missing and starts leading
a life of its own. The production will be sung in English.

Simunye
The 20th anniversary of a remarkable musical collaboration between
a highly-respected English a cappella group and a celebrated South
African gospel choir. This partnership has led to a beautiful collection
of songs that mix sacred and non-religious music.

The Fairy Queen
Inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry Purcell's comic masterpiece
has been transformed into a modern fusion of opera, puppetry, dance
and aerial acrobatics.
