Dateline: 13th April, 2006 The 24-Hour Plays If you are 18 to 25, passionate about acting, writing, directing or producing, and live in Greater London, The 24 Hour Plays: Starbucks New Voices will give you just 24 hours to prove your talent ... and invite 1000 people to watch your work at The Old Vic The 24 Hour Plays: Starbucks New Voices project is the most nerve-wracking, thrilling and challenging theatrical project for talented young actors, directors, writers and producers. Can you create, rehearse and perform an original short play in just 24 hours and perform it to a capacity house? You don't have to have a string of qualifications to apply for this unique talent contest - we're more interested in your passion and talent for theatre and your dedication to a career in the industry. To prepare for the challenge, you will be invited to a series of workshops with established industry professionals (last year's experts included Patsy Rosenburg (Voice Coach, National Theatre), playwright Sam Adamson, director Josie Rourke, Sally Greene (co-producer of Billy Elliot: The Musical) and Steven Hoggett (Frantic Assembly). The final show will be attended by a glittering group of industry professionals that can help boost your career. Following The 24 Hour Plays: Starbucks New Voices event, you will receive continued support from The Old Vic, by becoming a full member of the newly-formed New Voices Club - membership allows you access to mentoring support, rehearsal space, and production funding via the New Voices Award. To find out more, go to the official launch either as an individual or as part of a group of no more than thirty people on Tuesday 25th April at The Old Vic, from 12.00pm-1.30pm RSVP to newvoices@oldvictheatre.com , with '24 Hour Plays Launch' in the title telling us how many places you'd like reserving. Alternatively, keep an eye on The Old Vic website - from 25th April, application forms will be downloadable from www.oldvictheatre.com/24 . Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
