Three Welsh New Writing Commissions
Following the success of Lewis Daviess play Football

tour, Made in Wales has decided to commission three new plays for 2005.
Continuing its tradition as a writer led company, Made in Wales is
proposing to commission three 60 minute plays with a view to producing
at least one of them in 2005.
Writers wishing to be considered for this commission should send a
pitch (no more than one side of A4) to madeinwales@hotmail.co.uk
by the 13th February 2005.
The Rules
- Plays should be for no more than three actors and be suitable for
touring.
- Plays should be written in English.
- Plays should be 60 minutes long.
- A maximum of three plays will be commissioned; although the company
reserves the right to commission fewer.
- Commissioned writers will be paid £1,000. (£500 upon
commission and £500 upon delivery of the script.)
- The award is open to Welsh and Wales-based writers.
- Short-listed writers will be asked to send their CV, and an example
of their dramatic writing at a later date. Writers may also be asked
to attend an informal interview prior to commissioning.
- Made in Wales will hold the sole right to produce the play for 18
months upon delivery of the script. Made In Wales will be recognised
as the commissioning company thereafter.
- Commissions will be made by a panel appointed by the Made In Wales
board of directors.
