A specialist venue for family engagement in the arts has called on the public to donate £6 and give a looked-after child the experience of theatre this Christmas

Poet Louise Wallwein, “when we went to the theatre we were just a gang of children, but once the lights went down we were taken to another world.”

Wallwein has spoken out for almost 800 children in Greater Manchester’s care system and called for them to be given the opportunity of a life-changing trip to the theatre. She appears in a video for Manchester’s Z-arts as the venue seeks to raise the money.

Z-arts is staging Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen in a modern story of friendship triumphing against the odds.
