She is standing on the summit of an eight thousand-metre peak.
Below her, a sea of mountains stretches into the distance.
A finger of rock and ice
Reaching up into the empty sky
Is the last tapering remnant of solid ground,
There's nothing left for her to climb.

Extract from 8000m

8000m is Suspect Culture's biggest work to date. This spectacular staging of a major new drama explores the relationship between man and mountain, the exhilaration and life-and-death reality of high altitude mountaineering. Suspect Culture creates a visual language that transports its audience to one of only 14 places in the world above 8000m, and asks to what lengths we need to go, to make ourselves feel alive?

Inspired by the boldness of Robert Lepage, The Wooster Group and La Fura Dels Baus, Suspect Culture's dramatic use of architecture in Tramway 1 lifts the action off the stage floor on to the famous 'Brook' wall.

Langs Hotel are offering Suspect Culture attendees a pre-theatre dinner, one night's accommodation and breakfast for 2 people at a total cost of only £95. To book call 0141 333 1500 and quote 'Suspect Culture.'
