ACW Review Public Meetings

A series of public meetings for anyone wanting to have their say on the future of the Arts Council of Wales and arts funding will take place throughout Wales this summer.

The chair of the Review, Elan Closs Stephens, said,“ We are determined that the Review will be open, and inclusive, whilst following exactly the clear remit set out in the Terms of Reference by the Welsh Assembly Government. In addition to the public meetings there will be one to one meetings with key stakeholders, and a public call for written evidence.

“We recognise that it’s a huge task and we are looking forward to hearing a wide range of views. We will complete the public meetings by August, and we are asking for written evidence to be submitted by the end of July. ”

The Panel will meet the Culture Minister and hear evidence from the Arts Council of Wales in June. The work plan of the Review, dates of all meetings, and information on how to submit evidence will be available on the Review website shortly.

The dates and locations of the meetings are:

  • 19th June : Blackwood, Caerphilly Miner’s Institute 2pm - 5pm.
  • 22nd June : Caernarfon, Gwynedd Galeri 2pm - 5pm.
  • 29th June : Cardiff, Coryton Village Hotel 2pm - 5pm.
  • 7th July : Wrexham, Nick Whitehead Theatre, NEWI 2pm - 5pm.
  • 2nd August : Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth Arts Centre 1pm – 4pm
  • 10th August : Swansea, Dylan Thomas Centre 2pm - 5pm.
