Dateline: 6th April, 2008 BURST at BAC In May BURST, the venue's festival of theatre, music and play, returns to BAC. This year's festival features companies from Germany, Australia, the Netherlands and the United States, alongside a diverse group of home-grown artists and theatre makers. They will be performing in spaces across BAC, many of which have been opened up for the first time by the sell-out co-production with Punchdrunk, The Masque of the Red Death. It includes includes the British premiere of choreographer Doris Uhlich's Und, a dance piece involving over 65s, a double-bill of pieces by Australian dance performer Rosie Dennis and the 'provocative and visually arresting' (Time Out New York) piece Solo by controversial US artist Ann Liv Young. The festival will also feature a London run for the Goat Island's final piece The Lastmaker. BURST also presents a line-up of critically-acclaimed artists exploring intimacy; from one-on-one performances that wind their way through the building to haunting blind-folded experiences overflowing with sounds, smells and tastes. These include huge Edinburgh hits The Smile Off Your Face by Ontroerend Goed and Breathe's Just to(o) long? as well as a world premier from acclaimed performance artist Adrian Howells. Listings
