Wanted: Brighton Fringe Volunteers

Marketing and Development Manager and Casual Volunteers

Brighton Fringe is in a period of exciting and radical change. Where once we were confined to administering a once-yearly, open-access arts festival, we are now working year-round to help support the development of an enormous cross-section of the crème of our local creative talent.

The Role
In order to help us grow, we need a dynamic, talented marketing and development manager on our team. We are looking for someone passionate about the arts in our city, with a demonstrable interest in marketing and development work (either through some previous experience, training or both), and an attitude of pitching in wherever necessary. We want somebody who can commit as much of the working week as possible.

The Reward
This role is completely voluntary in the short term. However, the more work you put in, the sooner the rewards (both financial and otherwise) will emerge. Brighton Fringe is currently producing its first business plan, and as part of the organisational redevelopment of the company, we expect to be able to remunerate our core staff by the end of this year, and our aim is that this position will be fully salaried within a year. But this depends on the dedication and commitment of all involved.

This is a fantastic opportunity not only to gain invaluable arts management experience, but to be a core member of one of Brighton’s most diverse and exciting arts companies.

So if you are up for the challenge, looking for an opportune way into the arts scene, and want to contribute to an organisation on the cusp of major progress, get in touch with us and come in for a chat.

For more information and to arrange an initial face to face discussion, please contact Matt or Helen on 01273 699 733, or email matt@brightonfringe.net.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Casual Volunteers

We are also looking to widen our pool of “casual” volunteers, who work with us on a project-by-project basis. So if you are keen to come on board in this more limited capacity, have some regular time to give (at least one day a week) but still make your mark, get in touch. Enthusiasm and reliability are much more important than experience. This would serve as a great first step into the thrilling world of arts administration.
