BURN at the Traverse
Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre is to cap its 40th anniversary celebrations
with a revival of John Byrne's The Slab Boys trilogy which it
premiered between 1978 and 1982. The trilogy comprises The Slab Boys,
Cuttin' a Rug and Still Life, and the plays are based
on Byrne's experiences when he worked as a "slab boy", the
colour mixers at the Paisley carpet factory where Byrne worked before
going to Glasgow School of Art. It follows the life of Phil McCann over
a period of fifteen years.
Running from 14th November, when the first play begins previews, until
23rd January, the full trilogy can be seen in January:

and at 11.30am, 4pm and 8.30pm on
