Possible 63% Council Cut at Chichester Having already received a 6.9% (£113,845) cut in ACE funding for 2011-2012, Chichester Festival Theatre now faces a possible 63% cut in funding from West Sussex County Council. The council's orginal budget proposals had earmarked £216,000 for the theatre but new proposals, which go before the council on 11th February, have reduced that sum to £80,000. This would mean an overall cut in subsidy of almost quarter of a million pounds. County Council leader Louise Goldsmith was quick to point out that these are just propsals and no decisions have yet been taken.
