Christmas at ENB English National Ballet has announced its productions at the Coliseum for the Christmas period in its 60th birthday year. First up is a new production of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Artistic Director Wayne Eagling This will be the companys 10th production of The Nutcracker since it performed its first full length production at the Stoll Theatre in its founding year 1950. ENB has performed The Nutcracker every single Christmas since then. This production, which runs from 10th to 30th December, is a traditional retelling of the story and set in Edwardian London by deseigner Peter Farmer. Following The Nutcracker, the company will revive Rudolf Nureyevs Romeo & Juliet which will run from 5th to15th January, 2011. Nureyev created the work, which remains very faithful to Shakespeare's text, for English National Ballet in 1977.
