Triple Glory for Staunton?
After winning Best Actress awards at both the Venice Fim Festival and
the European Film Festival for her part in Mike Leigh's latest film
Vera Drake, Imelda Staunton has also been nominated (for the
same film) for the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Drama) Award at the
Golden Globes, fuelling expectation that she will be Oscar-nominated.
A RADA graduate, she has worked extensively with the RSC and the National,
and has made many appearances on TV and in film, including Shakespeare
in Love, Peter's Friends and Chicken Run.
