LATER with Paines Plough
LATER is Paines Plough's resident late night writers' salon at the
Trafalgar Studios, a collection of eclectic work curated by playwrights
for playwrights wanting to explore work in progress in front of an audience.
This season of LATER will be a programme of six evenings over an intensive
two week period, all curated by Duncan Macmillan, Paines Plough's Pearson
Writer in Residence. All are at 9.45pm on Monday, Wednesday & Friday
from 13th to 24th October.
Monday 13 October
Duncan Macmillan lines up his favourite playwrights to read from their
new works.
Wednesday 15 October
Fear and Misery in the Third Term. A series of shorts, inspired
by Brecht's classic play, especially commissioned by Dan Rebellato,
taking at look at the present Labour government. Featuring Mike Bartlett,
Duncan Macmillan, Chloe Moss and Ben Musgrave.
Friday 17 October
Directors' LATER. Playwrights write tailor-made plays for directors
with whom they have collaborated to perform.
Monday 20 October
If things were different. Olivier Award winning playwright
Bola Agbaje takes a look at our prejudices - a chance to see the world
from a different point of view.
Wednesday 22 October
Cabaret LATER. Playwrights and burlesque performers collaborate on
new pieces. Including playwrights Zawe Ashton, Stella Feehily, Lucy
Kirkwood, and cabaret artistes Bourgeois & Maurice, Dusty Limits
and the Hurly Burly Girls.
Friday 24 October
Directors' LATER. A new set of director/playwright teams with playwrights
writing tailor made plays for directors they have collaborated with
to perform
