Bourne's Swan Lake on Tour

Matthew Bourne's acclaimed version of Swan Lake which features a male corps de ballet is to set off on a national tour after spending Christmas at Sadler's Wells.

The production, which has won over thirty international theatre awards including three Tonys, premiered at the Wells in 1995 and will play there from 10th December to 24th January, 2010.

Casting for the revival includes a mix of established New Adventures performers and newcomers. Richard Winsor (created the title roles in both Edward Scissorhands and Dorian Gray) and Jonathan Ollivier (new to the company, who created the roles of Stanley Kowalski in Didy Veldman’s contemporary ballet of A Streetcar Named Desire and Heathcliffe in David Nixon’s Wuthering Heights for Northern Ballet Theatre) will both be making their debuts in the role of The Swan.
