Manchester Theatre Awards End The Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards will no longer go ahead. Panelists received a letter yesterday from Maria McGeoghan, editor-in-chief at MEN Media, informing them of the decision. It said:
One member of the panel, the BTG's North West Editor David Chadderton, said, "Last year the awards only went ahead due to hard work by long-standing members of the panel, especially Kevin Bourke, and were announced in a special MEN supplement rather than at a formal awards ceremony as in the past. The awards have been running since 1982 and are very popular with theatres, many of whom had already expressed an interest in hosting a future events ceremony."
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
