See the RSC for a tenner

The RSC is offering everyone the chance to see Shakespeare in Stratford for £10 - for one week only.

As part of a Festival Proms Week, 200 of the best tickets will be on offer for all performances in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

From Monday to Saturday, August 25th to 30th, theatregoers will be able to see three of the Bard's most diverse works, The Taming of the Shrew, Measure for Measure and Richard III.

Tickets will be available only to those booking in person. The tickets will go on sale at the box office from 9am on the day of each performance and will be limited to two per person.

RSC artistic director Michael Boyd said: "We're all very excited about welcoming people from throughout the UK to the Festival Proms Week.

"It's a great chance to see some of this country's finest classical actors performing in three of Shakespeare's most thought-provoking plays. It's the first time since I became artistic director that we've run a Proms week and I'm hoping to join the fun by mingling with the morning queues."

Scurry along to catch the Rat Pack

The story of five of the coolest, richest men in Hollywood, Rat Pack Confidential, opens Nottingham Playhouse's autumn/winter season, playing for only nine performances before it transfers to the West End.

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop inhabited a world of film stars, politicians, hookers, narcotics and the mob.

The production, directed by Giles Croft, was adapted from the Sean Levy book by Paul Sirett. It includes some of the most famous tunes of all time, including Come Fly With Me, You Make Me Feel So Young, Chicago and My Way. The cast includes Richard Shelton (Sinatra), Alex Giannini (Martin), Robin Kingsland (Lawford) and Paul Sharma (Davis).

Rat Pack Confidential runs in Nottingham from Thursday, August 21st to Friday, August 30th. The dates for the West End run have still to be confirmed.
