Awards
The Stage's awards at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe went to:
- Paul Sparks for Finer
Noble Gases at the Bongo Club (Best Actor)
- Caroline O'Connor for End
of the Rainbow at the Assembly Hall (Best Actress)
- The cast of Black
Watch at the University of Edinburgh Drill Hall (Traverse
4) (Best Ensemble)
- Daniel Kitson for C90
at the Traverse (Best Solo Performance)
Dirty Dancing
Casting
The full cast has been announced for Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych.
In addition to the already announced Georgina Rich as Baby and Josepf
Brown as Johnny, David Rintoul will Baby’s father Dr Jake Houseman,
Issy Van Randwyck her mother Majorie, Isabella Calthorpe as her sister
Lisa and Nadia Coote as Penny.
The production opens on 24th October.
Footloose
Needs a Home
The musical Footloose will leave the Novello on 11th November,
the end of its booking period, to make way for the RSC's London season.
Producers have said that they are looking for a new West End home for
the show which opened on 18th April.
On 9th September David Essex leaves the show and will be replaced as
the Rev. Shaw by Michael Howe, whom will play until the end of the run.
Vegemite Tales
Extends
The Vegemite Tales has extended its booking period at The Venue
until 14th October.
