RSC London Season a Financial Flop
It was confirmed this week that the current Royal Shakespeare Company London seasonof Jacobean plays is proving to be a financial disaster, with the box office only bringing in 20% of the cash needed to break even. Bill Kenwright (who, with Thelma Holt, is producing the season) admitted that the box office is only taking £20,000 a week, whereas £100,000 a week is the break-even point. The RSC will not lose financially, as the costs are being borne by the producers.

This comes on top of the revelation that the Roundhouse season earlier last year lost £500,000.
