Don Carlos for
the West End
Michael Grandage's last production at Sheffield, Schiller's Don
Carlos, will transfer to the Gielgud next year. It will open
on 3rd February (previews from 28th January), and will run until 30th
April.
The cast will be Derek Jacobi, Richard Coyle, Stuart Burt, Elliot Cowan,
Peter Eyre, Michael Hadley, Ian Hogg, Paul Keating, Andrew McDonald,
Brian Poyse, Claire Price, Charlotte Randle, Una Stubbs and Roger Swaine.
SOLT Publishes Box
Office Data
The Society of London Theatre has published the Box Office Data Report
for 2003, an analysis of stttendance and income from West End theatres
(which includes subsidised theatres such as the National). It is available
from The Society of London Theatre, 32 Rose Street, London WC2E 9ET
or by phone from 020 7557 6700 for £40 plus £1.75 post and
packing.
According to the Report, over 12m were made to SOLT member theatres
during 2003.
Extending
The following have announced extensions to their booking periods:
- The Rat Pack extends five months to 28th May, 2005 (Strand)
- Festen extends two months to 5th March, 2005, (Lyric Shaftesbury
Avenue)
- We Will Rock You extends six months to 29th October, 2005
(Dominion)
