Bent Revival
with Cumming
Alan Cumming is to play the lead, Max, in a revival of Martin 1979 play
Bent. The story of a gay man who finds love, self-respect and
death in Dachau, the play opens in September at the Trafalgar Studios.
It is directed by Daniel Kramer and produced by Sonia Friedman.
In the original production at the Royal Court and at the National Theatre's
revival in 1990, the part of Max was played by Ian McKellen.
Swayze Postpones West
End Debut
Patrick Swayze has had to postpone his first West End appearance (as
Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly) by ttwo weeks
because of a chest infection. However run in the production has been
extended by three weeks to 23rd September.
His first night will now be on 24th July.
Thatcher on Tour
Thatcher the Musical,
which premiered at Warwick Arts Centre in January, is to have a short
tour in the autumn. After opening at The Lowry, Salford Quays, on 3rd
October, it goes on to Oxford, Poole, Canterbury, Warwick and Leeds.
Extending
Two London shows have announced extensions to their booking periods:
- Shared Experience's production of Jane
Eyre (Trafalgar Studios) has extended by six weeks to 9th
September
- Chicago (Cambridge Theatre) extends by six weeks to 14th
April, 2007
