Another Pop Star to Cross Over?
Pop star Mariah Carey is to star in a new West End production of Rattigan's The Sleeping Prince, according to US trade paper Variety. The producer, the paper says, will be Bill Kenwright and it reports that he told those present at the first night party of his Broadway production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof that they would be beginning rehearsals in January.

Lifetime Award for Nunn
Trevor Nunn has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Directors' Guild of Great Britain. It was given to him by Judi Dench at a ceremony on 2nd November.

Keith to Tour in Priestley Revival
Penelope Keith is to tour in a new production of Priestley's Time and the Conways. Opening at the Belgrade, Coventry, on 11th November, it will go on to Bath, Guildford, Malvern, Richmond, Brighton, Newcastle and Edinburgh, with further venues to be confirmed . The tour is scheduled to finish in late February.

Journey's End to be Revived on 75th Anniversary
The Comedy Theatre is to host a revival of R.C. Sherriff's Journey's End, which is due to open on the 75th anniversary of its first performance, 21st January. It previews from 15th January and is booking to 6th March.

Tom's Midnight Garden to Tour
David Wood's Barclays Award-winning stage version of Philippa Pearce's Tom's Midnight Garden is to tour after a Christmas season at the Birmingham Old Rep (19th November to 31st January), after which it goes on to Guildford, Dartford, Darlington, Belfast, Nottingham, Buxton, Bradford, Preston, High Wycombe, Sheffield and Cardiff, with more dates to be announced later.

Frost Forces Morse into Second Place
David Jason's character Detective Inspector Jack Frost has been voted Britain's top TV detective. He was followed by Morse (John Thaw) with Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett) in third place. Jonathan Creek (Alan Davies) was fourth and Miss Marple (Joan Hickson) fifth. Sixth was another woman detective, DCI Jane Tennison (Helen Mirren) and John Nettles appears twice in the top ten, as DCI Tom Barnaby (Midsomer Murders) and Sergeant Jim Bergerac (Bergerac).

Friedman CD Released Soon
The cast CD of Alan Friedman's off-Broadway show, Listen to my Heart: The Songs of Alan Friedman, which Friedman hopes will come to London soon, is to be released in time for Christmas.
