Grand Hotel
Casting
The Donmar Warehouse has announced the casting of Grand Hotel, which
runs from 29th November (previews from 19th) to 12th February. Jouining
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in the cast will be Helen Baker, Gillian
Bevan, Martyn Ellis, Daniel Evans, Julian Ovenden, Gary Raymond, Sara
Annis, Hattie Bayton, David Birrell, John Conroy, Elizabeth Cooper-Gee,
Paul Hazel, David Lucas, Graham Macduff, Joseph Noble and Sevan Stephan.
Comedy from the Cuckoo's
Nest
Members of the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the
Gielgud are to hold four late-night comedy shows in the theatre after
the normal performance. These will be on Saturdays 16th and 30th October,
and 13th and 27th November. Appearing will be five cast members who
are stand-up comics by trade - Owen O'Neill, Phil Nicol, Gavin Robertson,
Ian Coppinger and Dave Johns - along with Frances Barber and Mackenzie
Crook. The Show will be compered by Christian Slater.
Slater, who describes himself as the karaoke king", has
said that he will sing the occasional song.
The Dubya Trilogy
The New Players Theatre is to present all three of Justin Butcher's
trilogy of Iraq-related satires - The
Madness of George Dubya, A
Weapons Inspector Calls and Guantanamo Baywatch
- from 19th October to 20th November. The shows will play in repertory
and all three will be performed back-to-back on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Woman in White
Cast Album
The cast recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White
will be released on 15th November. It will be a double CD featurung
the full libretto and will have a recommended price of £17.99.
Day Returns to Joseph
Darren Day is to return to the title role in Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Day's first big break came in Joseph in 1993 when he took over from
Philip Schofield at the London Palladium. Last year he joined the West
End cast of Bill Kenwright's hugely successful production and now he
is to tour with the show for six weeks.
Day will be appearing at Brighton Theatre Royal from October 11th to
16th; Liverpool Empire from October 18th to 23rd; Stoke's Regent Theatre
from October 25th to 30th; Mayflower Theatre, Southampton from November
8th to 13th; and Milton Keynes Theatre from November 15th to 20th.
Extending
The following shows have announced extensions to their booking periods:
- Round the Horne... Revisited (The Venue) extends two months
to 22nd January, 2005
- Mamma Mia! (Prince of Wales) now booking to 24th September,
2005
- Stomp (Vaudeville) extends to 24th April, 2005
