Goodman to Star in Almeida
Hypochondriac
Henry Goodman is to star in Richard Bean's new version of Molière's
The Hypochondriac (Le Malade Imaginaire) at the Almeida
from 17th November (previews from 10th) to 7th January.
The production is directed by Lindsay Posner with sesigned by Giles
Cadle, lighting by Jean Kalman, music by Matthew Scott, sound by John
Leonard and movement by Scarlett Mackmin.
Ravenhill Performs Product
at the Court
Playwright Mark Ravenhill is to perform in his Edinburgh Fringe success
Product
at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs at 9.15 on 14th, 16th and 17th September
only.
ETT Hamlet Begins
Tour
English Touring Theatre's latest production, Hamlet, begins a
national tour on 23rd September at the Oxford Playhouse, after which
it goes on to Guildford, Malvern, Buxton, Richmond, Truro, York and
Brighton.
Directed by the company's artistic director Stephen Urwin, it stars
Ed Stoppard (son of Tom) as Hamlet with Anita Dobson as Gertrude. Also
in the cast are Michael Cronin (Polonius), Patrick Drury (Ghost), Liam
Evans-Ford (Rosencrantz), Richard Hansell (Reynaldo), Sam Hazeldine
(Horatio), Martin Hodgson (Barnardo), Rhys Meredith (Guildenstern),
Alice Patten (Ophelia), David Robb (Claudius), Ross Waiton (Fortinbras)
and Ben Warwick (Laertes).
The Real Thing
Tours
Tom Conti stars in a new tour of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing
which opens at Milton Keynes tomorrow (12th September).
Directed by Tim Piggot-Smith, the production tours to Brighton, Richmond,
Cambridge, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Bromley,
Woking and Malvern.
Barber in Rattigan
Glynis Barber is to star in a new production of Terrence Rattigan's
Separate Tables at the Mill at the Mill at Sonning this month.
The production opens on Tuesday (13th) and runs to 15th October.
Misery
at the King's Head
A stage version of Stephen King's horror novel Misery, written
by Simon Moore, will run at the King's Head from 3rd October (previews
from 28th September) to 22nd October. Directed by Alan Cohen, it will
star Michael Praed and Susan Penhaligon.
Extending
Ray and Michael Cooney's Tom,
Dick and Harry (Duke of York's) has extended its booking period
by two months to 7th January, 2006.
