Guys and Dolls
in the Black
According to Variety, Guys and Dolls (Piccadilly) has recouped
its initial investment of just under £3m in only seventeen weeks.
Starring Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell
and directed by Michael Grandage, it opened on 1st June and is currently
booking until March 2006, although both McGregor and Krakowski are due
to leave the cast on 5th December.
They will be replaced by Nigel Harman and Sarah Lancashire.
Harrelson and Higgins
in Williams Revival
Hollywood star Woody Harrelson and Olivier Award winner Clare Higgins
are to co-star, along with Jennie Seagrove, in a revival of Tennessee
Williams' The Night of the Iguana at the Lyric, Shaftesbury Avenue.
Directed by Anthony Page, it will run from 23rd November, booking until
25th March, 2006.
Bill Kenwright produces the revival of the 1961 play.
Extra Performances for
Leigh Play
As a result of the postponement of Howard
Brenton's Paul due to the withdrawl of Paul Rhys from the cast,
the National Theatre has announced extra performances of Mike Leigh's
Two Thousand Years which was due to vacate the Cottesloe. Extra
performances began on 14th October and will continue until 19th. Because
of the play's popularity - it has sold out for most of the run - customers
will only be able to buy four tickets each.

The League of Gentlemen in Panto
13th October saw the start of a tour of The League of Gentlemen -
Are Behind You!, a panto-themed production based on the popular
TV show. As always, the show stars Jeremy Dyson, Mark Gatiss, Steve
Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith and, after its first stop at the Bristol
Hippodrome, it goes on to Manchester, Scarborough, Birmingham, Nottingham,
Leicester, Ipswich, Cambridge, Blackpool, Oxford, Bournemouth, Newcastle,
Sunderland, Glasgow, Southport, Blackburn, Grimsby, Brighton, Bradford,
Llandudno, Croydon, Plymouth, Southend, Cambridge, Portsmouth, Sheffield
and Hammersmith.
Badella Reprises Hedwig
Dabid Badella, probably best known to British audiences for his Olivier-winning
performance as the warm-up man and Satan in Jerry Springer - the
Opera and as Carlos in the TV hospital series Holby City,
will play the lead in Hedwig and the Angry Inch for just six
performances at London nightclub Too2Much from 20th to 28th October.
He originally played the part at the Heaven nightclub in June as part
of the Gay Pride Festival.
Footloose
on Tour Again
The musical Footloose, based on the 1984 film, is to set off
on a new national tour on 5th January, where it opens at the Wales Millennium
Centre in Cardiff before going on to Glasgow, Southampton, Birmingham,
Stoke, Manchester, Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Woking and Plymouth,
where it ends on 25th March.
Craig Is the New Bond
Daniel Craig is to be the new James Bond. He will star in Casino
Royale, which was the first Bond novel. He will be the sixth Bond,
after Pierce Brosnan, Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore, George Lazenby
and Timothy Dalton.
Craig made his name in the 1996 BBC TV drama Our Friends in the
North and has since appeared in a number of films, including playing
Ted Hughes opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Sylvia and Layer Cake,
which co-starred Sienna Miller.
Three Awards Nominations for Dr Who
The last TV series of Dr Who has been nominated in three categories
in the National Television Awards. Christopher Eccleston is nominated
as most popular actor, Billie Piper as most popular actress and the
show itself as most popular drama.

and Bradley Walsh
- For most popular actress: Caroline Quentin, Jessie Wallace, June
Brown and Sally Lindsay

Mary Poppins
Extends
Mary Poppins (Prince Edward Theatre) has extended its booking
period to 28th October, 2006.
