Journey's End to Return to the West End
Dabid Grindley's production of R C Sherriff's Journey's End will return to the West End in September. It will open at the New Ambassadors and is currently booking to 7th January, 2006.

It originally opened at the Comedy Theatre, in January 2004 before moving on to the Playhouse and the Duke of York's as well as embarking on an extended national tour.

No casting has yet been announced.

Some Girls Casting
More casting has been announced for Neil LaBute's Some Girls which opens next week at the Gielgud. Already announced is US film actor David Schwimmer: joining him will be Saffron Burrows, Lesley Manville, Sara Powell and Catherine Tate.

David Grindley directs. The designer is Jonathan Fensom and lighting designer Jason Taylor.

David Tennant

Tennant Will Be the New Doctor
The BBC has confirmed that David Tennant will replace Christopher Eccleston in the tenth series of Dr Who, which will be recorded later this year. There will also, it announced, be a special Christmas edition.

Tennant traces his desire to be an actor back to watching the series when he was three.

Val Kilmer Charlotte Emmerson

Kilmer Debuts in Postman
Val Kilmer is to make his West End debut in the The Postman Always Rings Twice which opens at the Playhouse Theatre on 8th June (previews from 24th May). The stage version premiered at the West Yorkshire Playhouse last October with Charlotte Emmerson playing Cora. She will reprise the role in the West End production.

Directed by Lucy Bailey, the production will have a limited ten-week run.

Scott Thomas and Pirandello
According to Variety Kristin Scott Thomas will star in a new version of Pirandello's As You Desire Me. Jonathan Kent will direct the new version by Hugh Whitemore.

ewan McGregor

Guys Extends Before It Opens
Guys and Dolls (Piccadilly) starring Ewan McGregor has extended its booking period to 4th march, 2005. This is a five month extension and the production does not open until 1st June (previews from 19th May).

Also announcing an extension this week is the Queen musical We Will Rock You, which is now booking to April 2006.

Amajuba Closes Early
Amajuba: Like Doves We Rise (Criterion) has posted early closing notices for 30th April. It was booking to 28th May but will now close after a run of less than four weeks.
