Maeterlinck’s Interior
Directed by Christopher Heimann (theimaginarybody theatre company)

The Exception and the Rule (Brecht)
Directed by Jan-Willem van den Bosch (Mother Courage for Graeae)
The New Tenant (Ionesco)
Directed by Alex Murdoch (associate director at BAC and artistic director of Cartoon de Salvo)

West End Return for Nicholas in Jekyll and Hyde
Paul Nicholas will make his first West End appearance since 1997 (and his first appearance in a West End musical since Barnum) early next year when he appears in Leslie Bricusse and Frank Wildhorn's new musical Jekyll and Hyde. The show will have a pre-London run at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne (24th August to 4th September, 2004), after which it will go on to Dartford, Sheffield, Glasgow, Wimbledon, Hull, Manchester, Malvern, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham and High Wycombe.

Josie Lawrence

Lawrence to Star in All-Woman Much Ado
Josie Lawrence will play Benedict in the all-woman production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Globe this summer. Yolanda Vasquez will play Beatrice and Tamara Harvey Will direct.

Corleone Is the Tops!
A panel of film experts has voted Don Corleone (Marlon Brando's character from The Godfather) as the greatest movie part of all time. Included in the Top 20, in a poll organsied by the magazine Premiere, were Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Sigourney Weaver's Ripley (Alien), Sir Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter (The Silence of the Lambs) and the computer-generated Gollum (Lord of the Rings), voiced by Andy Serkis.

The Top 5 characters were

  1. Marlon Brando - Don Corleone (The Godfather)
  2. Humphrey Bogart - Fred C Dobbs (The Treasure of the Sierra Madre)
  3. Vivien Leigh - Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind)
