In September it plays host to Shared Experience, who will be performing their production of E.M. Forster's A Passage to India from 14th to 25th. The play, a co-production with Nottingham Playhouse, also visits Bristol Old Vic (9th - 11th September), Cork Opera House (28th September - 2nd October), Nottingham Playhouse (5th - 23rd October), the Performing Arts Center in New York (30th October), BAM, New York (2nd - 6th November), Liverpool Playhouse (16th - 20th November), Poole Lighthouse (23rd - 27th November) and ending at the Lowry, Salford (30th November - 4th December).

Kevin Whately

Morse Will Return
ITV is planning the return of Inspector Morse. A new two-part story is planned, based around Morse's sidekick, Sgt Lewis (Kevin Whately). Both Sheila Hancock, John Thaw's wife, and writer Colin Dexter have agreed to the new programme but it has not yet been decided whether or not Dexter will write the piece.

This kind of sequel is not unknown, even to keeping the name. The Scottish crime drama Taggart has continued for many years after the death of actor Mark McManus, who played the eponymous hero, under that title.

ITV are also considering the return of Rumpole of the Bailey - Albert Finney has been approached to play the part made famous by Leo McKern - and is in discussions with Sean Bean about a new Sharpe drama.

Bat Boy in London
The off-Broadway musical Bat Boy, which had its UK premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 28th June, will open on 8th September at the Shaftesbury Theatre (previews from 18th August).

Ticket prices will be capped at £27.50 for the previews and £37.50 for the actual show. Lowest priced tickets will be £5 and £10 respectively.
