Casting for the Gate's
Celebration of Pinter The celebration comprises a double bill of two of Pinter's short plays, A Slight Ache (1959) and A Kind of Alaska (1982) and the performances from 27th to 31st (which includes the press night on 30th) are already sold out. Directed by Claire Lovett and Thea Sharrock, the cast is Niall Buggy, Michael Byrne, Anna Calder-Marshall, Diana Hardcastle, and Hugo Thurston.
Gala Nights at the King's
Head The gala events will be held on Sunday and Monday evenings throughout the year. Some of these evenings will be musical tributes, Variety, interviews, informals and high profile play readings. Among those who have confirmed are Linda Marlowe, Peter Straker, Steven Berkoff, James Taylor Quartet, Toby Young & Lloyd Evans, Frances Ruffelle and her jazz band, Sir John Mortimer, Anita Dobson, Mandy Muden and an evening with Dr Robert Le Fever. High profile readings include The Rainmaker with Brendan Coyle and Clare Booth Luces The Women. Londons top Musical Directors Mike Reed and Mike Dixon will be doing a tribute evening to King's Head founder Dan Crawford and a Vivian Ellis tribute evening.
