Lionel Bart

A New Lionel Bart Musical
Music theatre composer and lyricist Lionel Bart is to be the subject of a new musical which will be performed at the Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, later this year. It’s a Fine Life, written by Chris Bond, will tell the story of Bart's life and work.

Directed by Bob Carlton, the new show opens on 29th August (previews from 25th), and runs until 16th September.

Dabid Hasselhoff

Hasselhoff Drops Out
David Hasselhoff has withdrawn from his casting in the New Wimbledon Theatre's pantomime, Peter Pan, this year, due to TV filming commitments.

Children's TV presenter Sarah-Jane Honeywell is to play Pan and Bobby Davro Smee. Now the producers, First Family Entertainment are, they say, in negotiation to sign up a major star to replace Hasselhoff as Captain Hook.

Musical UK Premiere at the Menier
The Menier Chocolate Factory is to present the UK premiere of Jason Robert Brown’s Drama Desk-winning musical The Last Five Years from 18th July to 30th September.

Mack and Mabel to Close Early
The Watermill production of Mack and Mabel, which stars David Soul and Janie Dee, at the Criterion is to close three weeks early on 1st July.
