Michael Grandage

Grandage to Direct Evita Revival
Michael Grandage will direct, Rob Ashford choreograph and Christoper Oram design the revival of Evita which is currently auditioning in London. The show will be produced by the Really Useful Group.

Grandage, Ashford and Oram are the creative team behind the Donmar's Guys and Dolls, currently running in the West End and Michael Grandage, if course, is the Donmar's artistic director. However Evita will not be a Donmar production.

Star Cast for Richmond Aladdin
The cast of this year's pantomime, Aladdin, at the Richmond Theatre will include Christopher Biggins as Widow Twankey, Simon Callow as Abanazar and Patsy Kensit as the Genie of the Lamp. The production will run from 8th December to 22nd January.

Gayatri Iyer

Pavilions to Close Early
The musical The Far Pavilions is to close on 17th September after a five month run. It had been booking up to January 2006. The reason given is that the lead Gayatri Iyer has to return to India when her work permit runs out.

It is understood that a national tour is being considered.

Triplett Joins Chicago
Sally Ann Triplett is to join the cast of Chicago from 12th September to 5th November. She will play Roxie Hart.

Extending
The following have announced extensions to their booking periods:

  • The Phantom of the Opera to 16th December, 2006
  • Chicago to 25th February, 2006
  • Dancing in the Streets to 19th November
