Star Cast for Stubbs' Play
There will be an all-star cast for the production of Imogen Stubbs' new play, We Happy Few, which opens at the Gielgud in June. Directed by Stubbs' husband Trevor Nunn, the cast will feature Juliet Stevenson, Marcia Warren, Kate O'Mara and Patsy Palmer.

The play, a comedy, follows the fortunes of a group of women who set up a touring theatre company during World War II.

Prince of Wales to Open the Prince of Wales
HRH the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, will officially open the theatre named after him at a Royal Charity Performance of Mamma Mia! on 10th June. Tickets range in price from £40 to £250, with the most expensive tickets including pre-show and interval drinks and an after-show party, and can be booked by calling 0870 850 0399. Proceeds from the evening will go to The Prince's Trust.

Broadway Kate to Tour
Michael Blakemore's award-winning Broadway production of Kiss Me Kate, which transferred to the Victoria Palace in October 200, is to be revived and sets out on a national tour on 23rd August. Opening at the New Wimbledon Theatre, it then moves on to Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Stoke, Plymouth, Bromley, Manchester and Edinburgh during this year. Dates for 2005 will be announced later.

Open Air High Society on Tour
The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production of Cole Porter's High Society is also to tour. Directed by Open Air artistic director Ian Talbot and starring Susie Blake, it opens at the Churchill, Bromley, on 9th September, before moving on to Oxford, Woking, Brighton, Southampton, Richmond, Milton Keynes, Dartford, Bradford and Wolverhampton.

Extending
The following have announced extensions to their booking periods:

  • The Reduced Shakespeare Company (Criterion) to 30th January, 2005
  • When Harry Met Sally (Theatre Royal, Haymarket) to 4th September, 2004
    A new cast (Molly Ringwald - Elizabeth Jasicki will play Sally from 1st to 7th, Michael Landes, Dexter Fletcher and Suzannah Wise) takes over on 2nd June.
  • Jailhouse Rock the Musical (Piccadilly) to 2nd April, 2005
