First Festival City In-House Production
Edinburgh's Festival City Theatres, a group which comprises the Edinburgh Festival Theatre and the King's, is to produce its first totally in-house production in December. The Corstorphine Road Nativity by Tim Firth, directed by Joanna Read, will play at the Festival Theatre from 3rd to 19th December.

The group has co-produced in the past but now the group will produce two or three in-house or co-productions a year.

Chief executive John Stalker told The Stage that there are no plans to become a full-scale producing theatre but "As some producers have pulled back on some of the range of work they are putting out - either because of the economic recession or because of changes in the way they work - I have experienced a reduction in the choice available. It is sometimes necessary to act either alone or with other close colleagues to ensure that there is a flow of work: of original and new ideas or work that might not have be seen in this city before."

War Horse extends
The National Theatre's production of War Horse (New London Theatre) has extened its booking period to 12th February, 2010.
