Blessed to Tour in
Collins Play
Brian Blessed is to tour in a stage version of Wilkie Collin's novel
The Haunted Hotel. The plsy, which also stars Elizabeth Counsell,
opens at the Mercury, Colchester, on 6th September, and then goes on
to Darlington, Poole, Dartford, Eastbourne, Cheltenham, Jersey, Chester
and the Theatre Royal Windsor (co-producer).
Bombshells
at the Arts
Transferring to London's Arts Theatre from Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms
is Bombshells,
Caroline O'Connor's one-woman show, written for her by Australian playwright
Joanna Murray-Smith. The production opens on 6th September (previews
from 3rd) and is booking to 30th October.
Pride and Prejudice
on Tour
A tour of a new version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
opens in Guildford on 14th September and then goes on to the Edinburgh
Playhouse, The Theatre Royal Windsor, The Palace Westcliff and the Greenwich
Theatre. It will star Rula Lenska and Sylvester McCoy. Also in the cast
will be TV presenter John Leslie, playing Mr Wickham, who was sacked
from his job as presenter on This Morning (ITV) after newspaper
stories about drug-taking and allegations of indecent assault, for which
he was found not guilty in court.
