NNF10 Programme

The Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2010 programme has been announced.

On the day after Norwich was confirmed as one of the four shortlisted cities for UK City of Culture 2013, Norfolk & Norwich Festival announced the line up for the 238th year of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. From 7th to 22nd May the city of Norwich will be transformed into an enormous theatre cum concert hall cum playground for the Festival's furthest ever reaching programme.

With more than 350 performances in sixteen days, Norfolk & Norwich Festival is one of the top five city festivals in the UK. This year's highlights include the UK premiere of the momentous new work by Jordi Savall, Jerusalem: a city of two peaces, and a host of commissions and premieres in the worlds of music, dance, theatre and visual arts as well as a major programme of free outdoor events, installations and spectaculars.

Artistic director and chief executive Jonathan Holloway said, "The scale, breadth and sheer audacity of this year's Norfolk & Norwich Festival is testament to the energy, drive and appetite for performing and visual arts in the East of England.

"This is a Festival that refuses to be categorised. Its classical music heritage is enviable, its hunger for extraordinary new theatre, dance and circus is palpable and its free outdoor performances and events are some of the best on the international festival circuit."
